Miele Oven F32 / F33: Pyrolysis Door-Lock Fault
F32 and F33 belong to the motorized door lock that seals the oven during pyrolysis. The control must confirm “locked” before allowing self-clean temperatures and confirm “unlocked” before releasing the door. When the latch motor or its position feedback misbehaves, you get one of these codes — usually as a door that won’t lock for self-clean, or the crowd favorite: a door that won’t open after it.
The one rule: don’t force the door
The latch assembly always loses that fight, and a bent latch turns a switch-level repair into an assembly replacement plus, occasionally, trim damage. Every “stuck after self-clean” call that arrived pre-forced cost more than the ones that didn’t.
What to try, gently
- Let it fully cool. The lock stays engaged above a threshold temperature by design; “stuck” thirty minutes after pyrolysis is often just “hot.”
- Run a short pyrolysis and cancel it once the lock cycles — a re-command sometimes walks a hesitant latch back to open. Then let it cool again.
- One breaker-level power reset.
