Common H 7000 faults
- F23 — pyrolysis didn’t reach temperature. Heavy soil load, a weak heating circuit or a tired door seal bleeding heat. We measure element draw and seal condition before condemning parts.
- F31 — temperature sensor. The PT-type sensor drifts or opens; symptoms range from inaccurate baking to a dead oven.
- F32 / F33 — door lock during self-clean. The motorized latch or its position switch. Never force a locked pyrolysis door — the latch assembly is the casualty every time.
- Steam-path faults on DGC units: descale lockouts, pump and valve failures, especially with our hard water.
- Display, hinge and inner-glass replacements after self-clean thermal stress.
Miele Double Oven Repair — H 7000 Double Columns
A double H 7000 is two independent ovens in one column — separate cavities, separate temperature sensors, separate door locks, and on many configurations one shared M Touch computer. That architecture changes the diagnosis: a fault in one cavity is almost never “the oven”, it’s one circuit, and we test the cavities independently before quoting anything.
The double-oven calls we see most in Pleasant Hill, Lafayette and Orinda:
- One cavity not heating, the other fine — element, relay or sensor on the dead cavity only. Confirmed by measuring element draw per cavity, not by replacing parts in both.
- Temperature mismatch between cavities — a drifting F31 temperature sensor on one side; verified against a calibrated probe at cavity center, not by taste.
- Door lock faults after self-clean — pyrolysis on a double column stresses both latch assemblies; F32/F33 usually flags the cavity that ran the cycle. Never force a locked door.

FAQ
The oven locked itself after self-clean and won’t open. What now?
Run a short pyrolysis cycle again and let it cool fully — the latch often releases. If F32/F33 shows or it stays locked, stop; the latch motor or switch needs service.
My cakes bake unevenly since last month.
Classic early F31 territory — a drifting temperature sensor, sometimes a lazy convection fan. We verify with a calibrated probe, not by taste.
Do you repair the combi-steam descale lockout?
Yes. If descaling won’t complete, the machine locks steam functions on purpose. We service the pump/valve path and reset it properly.
Is it worth repairing a 12-year-old H 6000?
