Miele W1 Washer F10: Water Intake Fault
F10 on a W1 means the washer called for water and didn’t receive it fast enough. The flow meter counts what comes in; too little in the allotted time trips F10, usually right at program start.
Three checks solve most F10s
- Both taps fully open. Laundry valves get bumped, and quarter-turn valves left half-open after a hose swap are routine finds.
- Inlet screens. Close taps, spin off the fill hoses, rinse the screens. After any CCWD line work in Pleasant Hill or Martinez, grit lands here first.
- Hose and AquaStop. No kinks behind the stacked pair; if your hose has the AquaStop valve block and its indicator shows tripped, treat it as a leak event, not just an intake fault.
Restart after each. If water flows normally, done.
When it’s the machine
Repeat F10 with verified supply means the inlet valve isn’t opening reliably (scaled or electrically weak) or the flow meter isn’t registering. On W1s we also see pressure-related F10 in homes where a failing house regulator drops dynamic pressure — the washer is the messenger, not the problem. We measure at the bib before replacing parts.
